About Shaughn O'Brien Sculpture

My  Career as a Sculptor is aboyt ten years and overlapped for five of these with my previous career in medicine.

I Graduated with The Heatherley School of Fine Art Diploma in Figurative Sculpture in 2020.

My work covers a broad spectrum of techniques and ideas, so you should be captured by something!

Sometimes I begin with a strict plan or with a model. Other times I like to let the material tell me what to do a I go along.

The second approach is probably the most exciting.

I exhibit and sell my work frequently, the most accessible being my limited edition bronzes.

In 2020, I exhibited ‘The Awakening of Hypnos’ at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

My annual Medical Art Society exhibits at The Royal Society of Medicine resulted my 1st Prize for 3D work in 2021.

Exhibitions at Chelsea Arts Society [Old Town Hall], Heatherley School of Fine Art, Hampstead School of Art plus various exhibitions in Shropshire, such as the Granary. My most recent exhibition at The Brompton Cemetery Chapel Exhibition, Chelsea in October 2023.

My recent lecture at the Royal Society of Medicine to The  Lunatics Club: subject of Bohemian Paris and its influence on my own Sculpture.

My recent installation was B'ar Trouve Parisian Jazz Bar and Gallery surreal walk through experience was presented at The Heatherley School and then at my Shenfest Open Studio, Shenington's annual cultural festival in 2023.

My previous career in medicine as also highly rewarding and exciting - but not relevant here.
